WindowLayout End User License Agreement (EULA)

Article 1 (Definitions)

“Software” means the WindowLayout installer, portable edition, executables, updates, user interface and related documentation distributed by the Company. The Software is proprietary freeware provided free of charge; it is not open-source software.

Article 2 (Grant of license)

Provided that the User complies with this Agreement, the Company grants the User a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software free of charge for both personal and commercial purposes, including work for companies and organizations.

There is no limit on the number of computers or on the period of use. Employees of the User may use the Software for the User’s business.

Article 3 (Prohibited acts)

The User must not do any of the following, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law such as the Copyright Act (for example, analysis of program code to obtain information needed for interoperability):

1. modify, adapt or translate the Software, or create derivative works based on it;
2. reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, or attempt to derive its source code;
3. sell, rent or lease the Software or this license, distribute it for a fee, or sell it as part of a paid product or service;
4. remove, alter or obscure any copyright notice, trademark, code signature, license agreement or other notice of rights;
5. use the Software to break the law or to infringe the rights of others.

Article 4 (Redistribution)

The User may redistribute the Software free of charge only if all of the following conditions are met. The official download location is windowlayout.com.

1. the installer or portable file published by the Company is distributed exactly as it is, without any change (the code signature must stay intact);
2. this Agreement and the copyright notice are provided with it, or the address where this Agreement can be read is given;
3. no other software is bundled with it, no advertising is attached to it and no fee is charged for it;
4. it is not presented as endorsed or sponsored by, or affiliated with, the Company.

Article 5 (Intellectual property)

The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the Software belong to the Company. This Agreement grants a license only and does not transfer ownership of the Software or any intellectual property rights. All rights not expressly granted in this Agreement are reserved by the Company.

Third-party components included in the Software (such as open-source libraries) are subject to their own license terms, which take precedence over this Agreement for those components.

Article 6 (Updates and online features)

The Software may offer some online features, such as checking for updates, error reports and problem reports that the User chooses to send, and the AI assistant when the User turns it on. Information processed by these features is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

The Company may add or change features of the Software or stop providing updates. Updates are also covered by this Agreement; if different terms accompany an update, those terms prevail.

Article 7 (Disclaimer of warranty)

The Software is provided free of charge and “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, freedom from errors or interruptions, or compatibility with other software or hardware.

Article 8 (Limitation of liability)

To the extent permitted by the laws of the Republic of Korea, the Company is not liable for indirect, special or consequential damages, loss of data or loss of business arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Software.

This limitation does not apply to damage caused by the Company’s intent or gross negligence, or to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Article 9 (Termination)

The User may end this Agreement at any time by deleting the Software. If the User breaches this Agreement, the license ends automatically and the User must delete the Software and all copies of it. Articles 5, 7, 8 and 10 survive the end of this Agreement.

Article 10 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any lawsuit concerning a dispute between the Company and the User in connection with this Agreement shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

Article 11 (Changes to this Agreement)

The Company may change this Agreement within the limits of applicable law and will post the changes and their effective date on this page at least 7 days in advance (30 days for changes unfavorable to the User). A User who does not agree to the changes may stop using and delete the Software.

Article 12 (Language)

This Agreement is written in Korean. Versions in other languages are provided for convenience; if a translation differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
