v1.2.0 Current version
Released
- Secure automatic updates: WindowLayout checks a small latest.json file for a new version without sending any identifiers, and installs an update only after verifying its signature.
- Optional error reports and a “Report a problem” form. Nothing is sent unless you click Send.
- Exact refresh rates such as 59.94 Hz and 119.88 Hz are shown and applied as they are, instead of being rounded down.
- The tray menu now follows your language in all 12 languages.
v1.1.0
Released
- New Monitor setup screen: drag monitors into place on a live map with screen previews, set resolution, refresh rate and scaling, turn monitors on or off, pick the main display, and apply everything at once with 15 seconds to keep or revert.
- Split & padding: divide a monitor into areas that act like separate monitors for maximize, move and snap, or keep a margin free at its edges.
- New Home screen: save how your windows are arranged right now and restore it in one click, with a monitor minimap, your window layouts and handy shortcuts.
- A three-step first-run guide: check your monitors, save your first layout and pick a shortcut preset.
- The Ctrl+K command palette gains monitor actions: turn a monitor on or off, make it the main display, split it, quick save and restore.
- Tray menu: a Monitors submenu turns each monitor on or off.
- New action: turn the monitor under the mouse off and back on.
- New action: swap windows with the next monitor.
