Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose and scope)

These Terms apply to everyone who uses the Service. Installing and using the WindowLayout software downloaded from the Service is governed separately by the License agreement.

Article 2 (What the Service provides)

Through the Service the Company provides information about WindowLayout, how-to guides, software downloads (installer, portable edition and checksums), the changelog and update information, and the intake of error reports and problem reports sent from the app.

The Service is entirely free and requires no account or sign-in. The Company may change or discontinue parts of the Service when necessary for operational or technical reasons.

Article 3 (Using the software)

Software downloaded from the Service may be used free of charge for personal and commercial purposes under the License agreement. You can confirm that a downloaded file is official by checking the published SHA-256 checksum and the code signature (PROJECTTEAMFORYOU).

Article 4 (Prohibited conduct)

When using the Service, users must not:

1. disrupt the operation of the Service or bypass its security measures, for example through excessive automated requests, attacks or exploitation of vulnerabilities;
2. tamper with download files or distribute them with malicious code added;
3. impersonate the Company or WindowLayout, or suggest a relationship with the Company that does not exist;
4. copy the site’s text, images or guides in bulk and publish them elsewhere, or use them commercially, without permission;
5. send false content, advertising or other people’s personal information through the error report or problem report feature, or send reports in bulk;
6. do anything else that violates the law or public order.

Article 5 (Intellectual property)

The copyright in the text, guides, images, design and logo published on the Service belongs to the Company or the rightful owner. You are free to link to the Service and to quote it within fair limits, with the source (windowlayout.com) stated.

Article 6 (Trademarks and comparisons)

The WindowLayout name and logo are marks the Company uses to identify its product. DisplayFusion is a trademark of Binary Fortress Software; Windows, PowerToys and FancyZones are trademarks of Microsoft; other product names are trademarks of their respective owners.

The Company is not affiliated with or sponsored by these companies. The comparison table and guides on the site are reference information based on each product’s public documentation; please check each vendor’s website for current information.

Article 7 (Disclaimer)

The Company tries to keep the information on the Service accurate, but the Service is provided free of charge and its completeness, accuracy and timeliness are not guaranteed. The Company is not responsible for the content of external sites linked from the Service.

The Company is not liable when it cannot provide the Service for reasons beyond its control, such as natural disasters, network failures or outages of its hosting providers. This does not apply to damage caused by the Company’s intent or gross negligence, or where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

Article 8 (Privacy)

The Company protects information processed by the Service and the software as described in the Privacy Policy. The Service does not collect account information.

Article 9 (Changes to these Terms)

The Company may change these Terms within the limits of applicable law and will post the changes and their effective date on this page at least 7 days in advance (30 days for changes unfavorable to users). Users who do not agree to the changes may stop using the Service.

Article 10 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any lawsuit concerning a dispute between the Company and a user in connection with the Service shall be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

Article 12 (Language)

These Terms are written in Korean. Versions in other languages are provided for convenience; if a translation differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
